This is a demonstration of a faceup on a Volks Sweet Dream School A using Mr. Color paints and pastel. My batteries died part way through, so it's mostly just brush work. It's not the best faceup I've ever done (I'll probably redo it before I sell the head), but it was hard to paint and record all by my lonesome! I'm not sure what it'll look like after youtube compresses it, but I hope you find this helpful! (Armeleia on DoA) ETA 9/7: I'm stupid and I'm not sure how to reply to comments, so I'll answer a few things here. First, I'm sorry that the text goes by too quik in places! If I make another video in the future, I'll try to keep that in mind and slow it down. YouTube limited my video to 10 minutes, so I may have gone overzealous shortening it. The materials used: Mr. Color Paints (solvent based, not aqueous) Mr. Thinner Chalk pastels (NOT oil pastels) Mr. Super Clear Flat as a sealant The brush I am using is... very small. I don't remember the number. The pastels are applied with soft, sable-hair or acrylic brushes. Yes, I know I do things weird, hold things weird, etc. ;) Many people prefer to go the opposite order (pastels to brushwork) but this has always been easier for me. ETA 11/9: After getting heckled about being a freak, I did another video that goes in the "normal" order and uses more easily-available materials: www.youtube.com ETA 11/13: The music in the video is It is Ballade No. 4 in f minor, Op. 52 by Chopin.
